The coronavirus has claimed yet another life, and this time it's hitting one UFC star hard.
Khabib Nurmagomedov's father, Abdulmanap, has died from coronavirus complications, according to Russian outlet RT.com. He was 57.
Deeply saddened to hear this news. My heart goes out to the ever-classy champion @TeamKhabib and his family. I’ll never forget that moment between father and son in the Octagon at UFC 242 last fall. https://t.co/ICDBq7C5zD

Abdulmanap died from brain injuries caused by a stroke after fighting the virus, RT.com says.
Nurmagomedov's father was battling the virus for months before his death. The 31-year-old fighter says his father was struggling with COVID-19 since May and underwent several surgeries while in the hospital fighting for his life.
Abdulmanap had a serious heart condition that required surgery a year ago, putting him more at risk for the deadly coronavirus.
Nurmagomedov's father was his longtime coach and an important member of his fighting team — even helping Khabib defeat Conor McGregor.
And his father isn't the only member of his family to test positive for the virus. Nurmagomedov says more than 20 of his relatives also have been diagnosed.
